Louis Chiavere, a relative of Giovanni Raimondo Torlonia, Duke Torlonia. He is identified in a letter by Sir Thomas Lawrence as the Duke's son-in-law (cf. D. E. Williams's Life and Correspondence of Sir Thomas Lawrence, v. II, p. 172). To Lord Blessington, husband of Lady Blessington, the Irish-born writer and literary hostess : 1 autograph letter signed : 14 Mar 1829 : (BLES 2.089) : from Rome : on mourning stationery; announcing the death of Duke Torlonia; begins, "We were all in the deepest affliction for the loss of our dear Duke Torlonia ..." Mounted in v. 2 of the Blessington Papers. Shelved with oversized manuscript volumes.
